Workshop Title :
From Beyond the Computer Screens: Re-connecting with our Bodies.
About the workshop :
Psychodrama is a spontaneous and creative therapy, created and developed by Jacob L Moreno. Action methods, role play, drama, imagination and creativity are all parts of the method which are used effectively and safely re-connecting us to our bodies and minds. Creating new and emerging possibilities.
This 90 min workshop will be a participatory experience open to anyone who has a willingness to get involved. A classical psychodrama format will be facilitated – this will consist of 3 parts:
1 – Group Warm up stage
2 – Moving into Action and
3 – Ending/Group sharing
This is a group experiential workshop with the aim to explore, support and be curious. Creating a sense of group embodiment, cohesion, integration, personal growth, insight and creativity. All Welcome!
About the speaker :
I have worked with individuals, families and groups therapeutically for over 20 years in Hull in several roles from counsellor, manger, supervisor to resilience coach and youth worker. I have worked in various settings in different roles primarily within the third sector. I qualified as a counsellor in 2002 and developed a passion using creative action methods and drama working with disadvantaged and marginalised groups including children and young people.
I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and a member of the British Psychodrama Association. I use the psychodrama method creatively and flexibly within my 1:1 sessions and also within my group work. The spontaneity, connectedness, sensitivity and power of the psychodramatic method and working with people in action (and not) …….continues to educate and amaze me.
