Speakers :

Frances Townsend and Kathie Hostick

Workshop Title : Closing Plenary

Description :

Eric Berne described Recognition Hunger as an elaboration of Stimulus Hunger i.e. as we develop language, we learn to get our need for stimulation met through recognition.

In more recent theory this has been developed further within the fields of neuroscience and developmental psychology by authors such Damasio, Stern, Schore and Siegel.

“The mind is an embodied and relational experience, that regulates the flow of energy and information” Siegel (1999)

In this plenary we will use these ideas to explore mind, body and other, through the lens of our evolving friendship. We have known each other for 28 years and in that time have worked together presenting workshops, CPD, Examining and assessing but most of all have developed love, deep connection, and close relationship.
